The University of Allahabad has reopened from October 6, with all affiliated colleges and campuses resuming classes after the break. Students are advised to take note of important academic and administrative updates regarding internal examinations, hostel allotment, and upcoming holidays.
University Reopening and Holidays
All colleges under the University of Allahabad have resumed classes from October 6. The Uttar Pradesh government has declared October 7 as a public holiday on the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti. If any additional holidays are announced by the university, an official notice will be released.
The next long break for students will be during Diwali, from October 20 to 23. Regular classes will be conducted before and after these dates. Students are advised to maintain attendance and not to skip classes in anticipation of the holidays.
Enrollment and Fee Submission
Students of B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com (Second and Third Year) who have not yet completed their enrollment or fee submission are advised to do so immediately.
For First-Year students admitted through CUET under the NEP system, enrollment and class schedules have already been initiated. Students should ensure that their details are verified and fees are paid through their respective college or campus portals.
Internal Examinations for NEP Students
The internal examinations, which carry 30 percent marks weightage, will begin shortly across all departments. The format of these exams will differ by department.
Some departments, such as Philosophy, will conduct assignment-based assessments, while others may use multiple-choice or descriptive formats.
Students must coordinate with their class teachers and follow departmental notices carefully.
Departments will also merge related subjects into single papers. For example, Philosophy will combine Indian Philosophy and Ethics, while Hindi will include both prose and poetry sections in one paper. Students should prepare accordingly and keep track of submission deadlines for assignments and tests.
T1 Examinations and Academic Pattern
For students of non-CUET undergraduate programs, the T1 examinations are scheduled between October 6 and 17, depending on the department. These tests are compulsory and form part of the continuous assessment process, which includes T1, T2, and the final semester exams.
For students following the annual examination system (Second and Third Year), final exams are expected to begin on April 1, 2026.
Hostel Allotment and Reporting
Hostel allotment lists for PGAT candidates have been released. Both male and female students whose names appear on the list must report to their allotted hostels between October 6 and 10.
Male students have been allotted hostels such as Shyamji Verma and Krishna Hostel, while female students have received allotments in Mahadevi Verma and Kalpana Chawla hostels.
Students must report in person with the required documents and fee receipts. Any remaining seats will be allotted in the second list, which will be issued soon.
Scholarship and Portal Updates
Many students have reported issues while filling out forms on the UP Scholarship and National Scholarship (NSP) portals due to technical errors. University sources have advised students to wait until the portals are updated before reapplying.
Students should ensure that all required documents, including Aadhaar card, income certificate, and fee receipts, are ready for submission when the portals become active again.
Ph.D. Admissions
Applications for Ph.D. admissions at the University of Allahabad are currently open. Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply through the official university website.
Upcoming Diksharambh Programme
After the Diwali break, the University of Allahabad will organize a special “Diksharambh” programme. The event will include free UPSC GS Foundation, CSAT, and One-Day Master batches for participating students. Further details will be shared through official university and student communication channels.
Important Reminders for Students
Students should stay updated with departmental notices and avoid missing internal assessments. Hostel reporting deadlines must be followed strictly, and all official communication should be verified through the university or trusted student platforms.
Students are also advised not to skip classes during the festive period, as internal exams and assignments will be scheduled before Diwali.
